National POW/MIA Recognition Day, 19 September 2014

On this annual American commemoration of our Prisoners of War and Missing in Action, we remember our brave servicemen and women of Bataan, the roughly 60,000 Filipino and 15,000 American soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who fought valiantly but ultimately fell into captivity under the cruel Japanese Empire. How many more of them that went missing in action during the campaign or in brutal captivity afterward is unknown at this time to the writer of this web log, but we remember and honor all the POWs and the MIAs on this day.
